A quiet place with a special atmosphere, particularly in the gentle misty stillness. Standing here on the edge of Grasmere, it’s easy to see why this place has inspired generations of artists, writers, and poets alike. William Wordsworth lived at Grasmere for a number of years where he wrote some of his most famous works.
