About the Prints

My images are printed on high quality archival cotton rag papers using only the finest quality pigment based inks. Currently I am using Fotospeed’s Platinum Cotton 305 and Smooth Cotton 300. Both these papers have matt finish. When a slightly richer satin finish is needed I use Canson’s Platine Fibre Rag 310.

Fotospeed Platinum Cotton 305gsm • 100% cotton, acid and OBA free, fine art paper with a smooth natural surface.

Fotospeed Smooth Cotton 300gsm • 100% cotton, pH neutral, fine art paper with an ultra-smooth surface.

Canson Infinity Platine Fibre Rag 310gsm• 100% cotton, acid and OBA free, fine art paper with a satin smooth surface.

Signing and edition numbering • Prints are sold as signed and numbered limited editions. The edition size is the amount of each image that will be ever be printed and each print will be assigned its own unique edition number. My images are either printed with a generous white border leaving room for mounting (matting), signature, title and edition number on the front, or where stated in the product description, are printed with a small 12mm border. Prints with a 12mm border will be signed with the title and edition number on the reverse of the paper. As well as the main edition a further 3 ‘artist proofs’ will also be printed. These may vary slightly to the main edition and won’t usually be for sale, although they may be distributed at my discretion.

How to look after your print • Avoid hanging in direct sunlight or bright light. Avoid hanging near or above a heat source like a radiator or fireplace. Damp walls should also be avoided. Hung in the best conditions using only archival framing materials will ensure that enjoyment of your print will easily last a lifetime.

Please note • There is a difference between viewing an image on a computer screen and the final print that you will receive. I have tried to make the online images as close as I can to represent accurately the print you will receive, but inevitably there is going to be a little difference. All of my work is made with printing in mind to ensure your maxium enjoyment.

Copyright and image ownership • Please note that on purchasing a print you are taking ownership of that particular print and edition number, NOT the image. Therefore copying or distribution of the image is NOT legally permitted without the permission of David Shaw Fine Art Photography. Ownership of all images depicted on this website remains with David Shaw Fine Art Photography. Permission needs to be sought from David Shaw Fine Art Photography to use any image for ANY purpose.
